“A deep, cold message for success in life.

  • Dilip was Rameshbhai’s son.
  • The teacher (Masterji) was the village’s school teacher.
  • Mr. Pandya was the principal of the city college.

Introduction

Rameshbhai had a dream that his son would grow up, focus on his studies, and become a successful person. But as Dilip grew up, he did not pay proper attention to his studies and failed in every exam. Because of this, the villagers used to mock Rameshbhai. They would say, “You used to boast that your son would excel in studies,” and also, “A farmer’s son only looks good in the fields, not in schools or colleges.”

Poor Rameshbhai had to endure all this and felt deeply hurt. Then one day, Dilip’s 10th-grade results were announced, and he came home with his result. He had failed again. But even this time, Rameshbhai didn’t say anything to him. Instead, he took Dilip to the farm.

There, he pointed toward the field and said to Dilip, “If I sow seeds in this field and after three or four months nothing grows, it is not the field’s fault. The fault is mine—because I didn’t take care of the seeds properly, didn’t give them enough water or fertilizer. That responsibility is mine, the farmer’s.”

“In the same way, the fact that you failed in your 10th-grade exam is not your fault—it’s mine. I didn’t pay enough attention to you.”

Hearing this, Dilip’s eyes filled with tears. In his heart, he thought, “My father works so hard, and I have been so careless.” He then made a firm decision that from now on, he would give full attention to his studies.

After that, he changed.

After the change, Dilip began focusing a lot on his studies. He started studying an extra hour every day. He watched simple educational videos on YouTube, asked basic questions to the village teacher (Masterji), and learned from them. Gradually, he began to develop a real interest in studying.

During the day, he worked in the fields, and at night, he would study late. He passed his 10th-grade exams, and later he also passed 12th grade with first class. After that, he pursued a B.Sc., and then received a scholarship for M.Sc. studies in the city.

He continued progressing and achieving success. Ten years later, Dilip completed his Ph.D. and became a scientist.

One day, he was invited to an event in his own village. Standing there, he looked toward his fields and said, “The root of my future lies in this farmland. It is from this field that I moved forward. This land inspired me, and it is because of this that I found success in life.”

He added, “My greatest teacher is my father, who never gave up on me—while the whole village considered me a failure.”

Conclusion:
Every person has potential. No individual or child is truly a failure. Perhaps they just need the right method or a change in approach. When they receive trust and support from their family, no one turns back without achieving success.
